Thảo Bùi is a visual artist based in Hà Nội, Vietnam. Working across performance, moving image, photography, and participatory situations, his practice develops through encounters with people and specific places. He examines how people look at, describe, support, and adjust to one another, and how relationships and understandings of place take form through partial and uneven forms of access. Using cameras, instructions, repeated actions, and simple structures, he creates or enters situations whose outcomes remain open. His work attends to the ordinary effort required to remain in relation: listening, adapting, sustaining attention, and continuing.
His work has been presented in exhibitions and programs including Feta, APD Center, Hà Nội (2025); Chèo Méo, Tòhe, Hà Nội (2025); Green, Red & Yellow: Recontextualized, APD Center, Hà Nội (2024); Remission, Manzi Art Space and The Outpost, Hà Nội (2023); and Assemblage: Me, My Story, and I, Dogma Prize, Hồ Chí Minh City (2023).
